Most solid hardwood floors can be refinished multiple times, but engineered floors with thin wear layers may have limited refinishing options. The key factors are wood thickness and overall structural condition.
We assess your floors’ refinishing potential during a free consultation. We’ll check for adequate wood thickness, examine structural integrity, and identify any areas needing repair before refinishing. Generally, if you have at least 1/8 inch of solid wood above the tongue-and-groove joints, refinishing is possible.
Floors with extensive water damage, deep gouges, or structural issues might need board replacement before refinishing. But most Hampton Bays hardwood floors are excellent candidates for restoration.
